BIM-IOT is a comprehensive smart building platform that integrates 3D BIM models with live IoT sensor data for real-time building monitoring and analytics.
The platform enables building managers and operators to visualize sensor data directly on their BIM models, providing instant context for environmental conditions across the facility.
Users can monitor temperature, humidity, air quality, and other critical metrics in real-time, with historical data analysis and trend visualization to support building performance optimization.
Challenges We Faced
1. Integrating real-time sensor data with 3D models
The platform needed to stream live IoT data from multiple sensors and overlay it on the BIM model in a way that was both performant and easy to understand.
2. Creating intuitive heat map visualizations
Developing effective visual representations of sensor data (temperature, humidity, air quality) that could be overlaid on 3D model elements without overwhelming the user.
3. Supporting historical data and trend analysis
Building a system that could store, query, and visualize historical sensor data to help building operators identify patterns and optimize performance.

Integrated Autodesk Platform Services for 3D BIM model viewing and interaction in the browser.
Connected InfluxDB for real-time IoT data ingestion and historical storage of sensor readings.
Developed custom heat map extensions that overlay sensor data directly on model elements.
Built interactive dashboards with historical data charts and trend analysis visualizations.
Added sensor details panels showing real-time readings when clicking on model elements.
